Reflecting On My Resume.

There really isnt much i can say about writing my resume except for that it was slightly difficult because i dont have much work experiance or anything to put on it but im looking forward to improving it and adding more to it as i get older and learn and do more things.
What i can tell you is that my perception on resumes changed completely after starting to write mine.I expected it to be much harder and take a lot longer then it did but once i got into it and started it was easy and interesting to see what i could come up with.

Resumes.

So my curriculum for school told me to write this information down on a chart but its not letting my write on that chart so i figured i would put it on my blog for all the people who read it to see.Lucky you!haha.
The link, which i added to the bottom of this blog is a link to Monster.com and an aritcle about Rejuvinating your Resumes to make them more appealing and stand out more to employers. It gives you 5 points which consist of Removing dates from your education, focusing on recent and relevant experiances, focus on new technologies, get online and get connected, and finally give your resume a personal voice.
Things that i will take with me from reading this article are not to be afriad of using the word "I" you are trying to talk yourself up so that way you seem better for the job you are trying to get so dont be afraid to say I and put in things that apply to the job but also make you look better. Another thing I will take with me from this artical is to focus on accomplishments that have something to do with the skills i will need in the job im applying for. I have a right to be proud of things ive done in the past but by making sure the things i put in relate to the job at hand i have a better chance of getting the job and making myself look good.
I found that this article has a lot of good information and can be very helpful, feel free to read it and comment on here and tell me what you think!

Cake Decorating(:

Along with some of the interests i put on my page I also am interested in Cake decorating and i help out a family friend who owns her own business making cakes and cupcakes whenever i get the chance.
Last Friday i helped her out making the cake that it shown in the pictures above. It was for a little girls birthday and everything on the cake is edible except for the wire used to make the cherry stem.
The cake is broken down into four parts which after its iced you cant tell but the present is to cakes stacked and then the cupcake top and bottom are two differet cakes held together by butter cream icing and fondant.
The dots, Candy, Cherries, Ribbon, and top layer of icing on the cake is all fondant. For those of you who dont know fondant is thick almost like playdo and unless you make it yourself using marshmellow cream it is usually almost like pure sugar. Its used to sculpt things and make a cake more detailed and clean looking but also it adds a sweeter taste to any cake.
This cake took us almost four hours to make but it was a lot of fun and the end result was great.I cant wait to go back and learn more from her and make more cakes!
