History MythBusters; Trojan Horse!

In the story of the trojan horse there is both fact and fiction. How do we know what is fact and what is fiction? The story was just passed around by word of mouth from greek soldiers who survived the war and then eventually documented but there are no pictures of this great wooden horse? so did it really exsist? It is believed that it did but that doesnt mean everything about it is fact.It is true that soldiers were hidden in the wooden horse fully armed while other soldiers waited a short distance from the city of Troy. The horse wasnt a gift though like it was told in the story, the soldiers of troy thought it was some type of greek idol and believed to have captured it and brought it into there city. They feasted in celebration of there victory. Once the people of troy were asleep the greeks came out of the horse opened up the gates of the other soldiers and began to burn down houses and kill hundreds of men women and children. All in all the horse did exist and the war was caused due to the people of troy taking Helen, but how the people of troy came to aquire the horse was not true or at least there are multiple different perspectives as to how they aquired it. In the end though it is fact that the greeks gained control over troy and won back helen all due to the mere stupidity of the people of troy.

Great Leaders

Usually when you look into the lives of our countries great leaders they have some type of a set back before they come through with their great triumph. Some set backs are due to the fact that when trying to make everyone happy, you just cant and that can cause things to be stalled (put on hold) or changed around. When a leader has a set back or shows a weakness I think it shows everyone else that our countries leader is just as much human as the rest of us. No one is perfect. George Washington was our first president and i believe to be one of our best. He over saw the ratification of the bill of rights, he organized the first united states cabinet and the executive branch, he also brought peace with Great Britian. Some set backs in his presidency were that he didnt even want to be president, he did it out of a sense of duty and felt he had no choice. Though being one of our best presidents he wasnt happy in his situation.
